BIO

Dr. Vincent Yang became intrigued by the complexities of nephrology during his college years at the University of Illinois, where he initially pursued a computer science degree. Along with another physician, Dr. Ing, he evaluated the adequacy of dialysis, electrolytes and acid-base. Through this study, a new career path was forged and since then, Dr. Yang has dedicated himself to his passion of advancing kidney care.

A graduate of the Medical School at the University of Illinois, Dr. Yang truly enjoys helping patients with hypertension, chronic kidney disease and nephrolithiasis feel better and improve their prognosis through today’s most advanced, yet caring, nephrology treatments. Going beyond the black and white of a diagnosis, Dr. Yang works directly with his patients to help them overcome any social or financial hurdles associated with their condition in an effort to provide them the best medical care possible. In addition, patients benefit from Dr. Yang’s open communication with referring physicians. This ultimately helps ensure that their other medical conditions and/or medications are carefully taken into consideration when outlining a course of kidney treatments.

Dr. Yang’s research regarding hypertension in type 1 Diabetes was recognized via a grant from the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. His work has also been featured in a number of publications. Dr. Yang stresses to patients that although early stage kidney disease may lack symptoms, an early referral to a nephrologist is the best thing a patient can do to help improve their prognosis.

Dr. Yang is excited to be a part of the KSOSN team. He believes the multiple clinic locations and broad coverage areas make it easier for patients to be seen in a timely manner and benefit from convenient appointment times and locations. Dr. Yang is a first generation Asian American and he witnessed his parents living the American dream—going from nothing to becoming a success. His parents were a driving force of inspiration for him to do the best he can for his own family.
