BIO
The army brought Dr. Lawrence Lehrner to nephrology and the sunshine brought him to Vegas. After earning his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Lehrner joined the United States Army and was stationed at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. On track to a career in the gastrointestinal field, a twist of fate led him to nephrology where he was instantly fascinated.
Dr. Lehrner takes an integrative approach to the treatment of CKD. That approach includes working closely with the patient and their primary care physician. He believes in being honest and forthright, empowering patients with the knowledge they need to make important decisions about their health.
Dr. Lehrner is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is actively involved with local and national medical organizations that work to improve the quality of care for the population at large. Dr. Lehrner served on the Board of Directors of the Renal Physician Association that is active in many areas of kidney care including patient safety, defining clinical practice guidelines, and measuring quality of patient care.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Lehrner made his way to the warmer, sunnier climate of Las Vegas in 1985. He joined KSOSN in 1987 when there were just four physicians. The practice now has more than 30 nephrologists. Dr. Lehrner’s current faculty appointments include the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine and Touro University in Henderson, Nevada.
